Usec. Felicito “Chito” A. Valmocina
Undersecretary
Department of Interior and Local Government
Undersecretary Felicito “Chito” A. Valmocina is a public servant renowned for his immersive community leadership. From being elected as a Kagawad and to his subsequent role as Barangay Captain in Brgy. Holy Spirit, Quezon City, he has since built his record in public service in one of Quezon City’s biggest barangays, overseeing an urban village with over 111,000 residents.
Since the late 1980s, Usec. Valmocina’s commitment to service extends beyond his local community. He previously served as the Executive Director of the Pusong Makabayan Foundation, Inc., where he championed civic engagement. In 2009, Valmocina returned to direct community service as a Barangay Administrator and was elected once again as Barangay Captain a year later in 2010.
Throughout his illustrious career, he has demonstrated grassroots-level engagement with his constituents, backed by his educational background in Commerce from the Philippine College of Commerce (now known as the Polytechnic University of the Philippines).
Usec. Valmocina was appointed in 2022 by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. as Undersecretary on Barangay Affairs within the Department of the Interior and Local Government. His “lengthy experience” as village chair was cited in his appointment. In this role, he will continue to be engaged in policymaking and initiatives that directly impact communities nationwide.
