The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) has initiated training sessions for stakeholders involved in the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Housing Program (4PH) projects in Central Luzon, particularly in Tarlac City and Bulacan, where two additional SHFC-led 4PH projects are located.

On April 11-12, a number of local government unit (LGU) personnel and prospective member-beneficiaries (MBs) from Tarlac City and the Municipality of Pulilan attended capacity-building and community needs assessment (CNA) sessions in separate batches.

Led by SHFC 4PH-CL Head Prandy Vergara, the simultaneous gatherings covered training inputs on the creation and registration of Community Associations, capacity-building for LGU members to handle 4PH processes and documentation, selection and acceptance of prospective MBs, and orientation on requirements related to the processing of permits, agreements and other compliances, among others.

In Tarlac City, the City Planning and Development Office, headed by Arch. Eduardo Quintero, coordinated with SHFC to hold the two-day sessions. During the assembly, Tarlac City Mayor Cristy Angeles emphasized the need to prioritize improving and instituting social welfare programs to benefit ‘Tarlakenyos’ in low-income groups. The second batch of prospective MBs identified by the LGU complied with their CNAs while the first batch took their session on February 29 to March 1.

Meanwhile, SHFC Bulacan Branch Manager Myrna Sipcon expressed gratitude to Pulilan Mayor Maria Rosario “Maritz” Ochoa-Montejo for the facilitation provided to the group. The MOM’s Ville Phase 1 HOAI located in Brgy. Peñabatan is another Community Guided Financing project listed under 4PH. The development targets constructing vertical housing units for 627 MBs identified as informal settlers.

Notably, the much larger La Vista Estates in Brgy. San Rafael, Tarlac City, will soon be occupied by 9,424 qualified MBs. La Vista Estates is one of SHFC’s largest and recently completed 4PH projects built on a 92,699 sqm land area.
