SHFC facilitates delivery of relief packs to over 300 families in Malabon

Led by President and CEO Federico Laxa, the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) facilitated the distribution of food packs to over 300 families from Letre Homeowners’ Association, Inc. Phase 1 in the City of Malabon. These families were severely affected by Super Typhoon Carina and the recent southwest monsoon, which brought heavy rains and flooding to the area.

The relief assistance included rice, canned goods, and other ready-to-eat food, as well as medicine and soap.

Accompanying President and CEO Laxa were SHFC Executive Vice President Atty. Junefe Payot, Accounts Management Group Senior Vice President Josefina Banglagan, and Resettlement Services Group Vice President Bob Flores. Malabon Mayor Jeannie Sandoval and former Congressman Federico “Ricky” Sandoval also attended the relief distribution.

To date, SHFC has extended relief efforts to nearly 2,000 families affected by recent weather disturbances in its housing projects across Metro Manila and Central Luzon. The agency is currently working on plans to assist a total of about 10,000 families in typhoon-hit areas.

The initiative aligns with the directive of Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar to provide comprehensive assistance to families affected by the typhoon. This effort supports President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s call for all government agencies to aid calamity-stricken areas.
