Phase 2 of 1Bataan Village in Orion to house over 6, 000 families
Published on 13 May 2024

Orion, Bataan – The 1Bataan Village project in Brgy. Daan Pare, Orion is undergoing an expansion to accomodate an additional 6,450 families. This initiative under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program aims to provide housing for residents, particularly those from nearby fishing communities.
Recent Development
The recent development was highlighted during the three-day Community Needs Assessment and Capacity Building Training sessions held for prospective member-beneficiaries (MB) and the organized Homeowners Association from May 2 to 4. Phase 2 of the 1Bataan Village development will include 13 buildings: nine 16-story structures and four 21-story buildings. All buildings have been designed with open corridors to ensure good air circulation. Its strategic location facing Manila Bay also features a wharf to support the livelihood of local fishermen.
Collaboration and Support
The 1Bataan Village-Phase 2, a 4PH project enlisted under the Community Guided Financing of the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), is a collaborative effort between various government agencies and the private sector. SHFC played a key role in the recent sessions to ensure the documentation and processing of papers required for prospective MBs.

A team led by 4PH-Central Luzon Officer-in-Charge Prandy Vergara, SHFC Vice President for Title Utilization and Acquired Assets Management Group Marissa Diestro, and Documentation for Refinancing Department Manager Atty. Irish Lavado represented the SHFC in the assembly.
Groundbreaking Ceremony
The groundbreaking ceremony for Phase 2 took place in January of this year, with Bataan Governor Joet Garcia and officials from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development in attendance. Currently, the local government units of Bataan Province, through Bataan Human Settlements Office Coordinator Christopher Leonzon, and Orion town, headed by its Mayor Hon. Antonio Raymundo, Jr., are assisting in processing applications for potential residents.
