Marking a significant milestone in the push for safe and resilient housing, the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), working closely with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the City Government of Calamba, officially welcomed the first batch of beneficiaries to RizalVille in Banlic-Uwisan in Calamba, Laguna.

The initiative is part of a comprehensive interagency effort to provide sustainable housing solutions for families affected by the construction of the North-South Commuter Railway Extension (NSCR-EX) Project.

Among the new homeowners is Jose Regalario, Jr., who couldn’t contain his emotions during the moving-in ceremony earlier today: “Excited po ako dahil mayroon nang sariling [bahay]. Kami po ay laking squatter… dito, komportable kahit umuulan—safe kami dito.”

The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) is a key shelter agency under the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), led by Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar. It is among the implementing agencies of the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (4PH)—the flagship housing initiative of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. aimed at addressing the country’s housing backlog.

Currently, SHFC is carrying out over 80 housing projects across the country, contributing to the broader goal of delivering more than 160,000 decent and affordable housing units to Filipino families.
