In celebration of the Pride Month this June, the Social Housing Finance Corporation is championing inclusivity and gender equality through a two-day advocacy seminar conducted at the SHFC head office in Makati and via zoom on June 17-18.

Organized through a collaborative effort of the Alyansa ng mga Lalaking Ayaw sa Karahasan (ALAK), SHFC Move Chapter, and the Gender and Development Unit, the seminar drew active participation from 128 employees—70 female and 58 male personnel.

Facilitated by Cavite State University GAD Focal Person, King David Agreda, the sessions focused on SOGIESC (Sexual, Orientation, Gender Identity, Expression, and Sex Characteristics) and Gender-Fair Language Training.

The seminar aimed to address discrimination faced by individuals with diverse sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression. It also sought to promote a more inclusive and respectful workplace at SHFC, a recipient of the GADTimpala Award from the Philippine Commission on Women in recognition of its GAD initiatives.

Program Development and Enhancement Vice President Atty. Maria Rosalie Richa Taguian, Insurance and Community Enhancement Manager Cezar Macaspac, and Internal Audit Manager Chito Arquillo were present in the seminar. Also in attendance were SHFC GAD Focal Person Margeline Kate Moncada and ALAK Vice Chair Allan Romero.
