The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), and the local government of City of San Juan held a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday for a new housing project under President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

The ceremony was led by SHFC President and CEO Federico Laxa, DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar, and San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora.

Set to feature a 30-story building, the Makabagong San Juan Pambansang Pabahay project will provide homes for over 1,000 families in the city, offering residents a secure and permanent place to call home. It is the tallest 4PH development in the country to date.

In his speech, Secretary Acuzar reaffirmed the housing sector’s commitment to providing homes under the 4PH program. President Laxa, on the other hand, emphasized SHFC’s dedication to expediting the project’s completion, while Mayor Zamora expressed gratitude to DHSUD and SHFC for ensuring that the initiative moves forward.

Other notable attendees included Resettlement Services Group Vice President Bob Flores, along with officials from the DHSUD and the local government.
