Makati City – Lauding President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s commitment to aggressive infrastructure development and the affirmation of housing as a vital pillar in the economy, the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) highlights steady progress in its socialized housing initiatives. Aligned with the President’s vision of improving the lives of Filipino families, SHFC has been a key implementer of the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program under the watch of Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar.

To date, SHFC is actively managing 12 ongoing 4PH projects, totaling 45,494 housing units currently under construction. These projects form part of the 111 shovel-ready projects aimed at providing 505,951 housing units by 2028. By strategically locating these developments, SHFC ensures that residents have continued access to essential services and opportunities while preserving their communities.

During the first two years of President Marcos, Jr.’s administration, the corporation assisted 35,428 families from June 2022 to May 2024, providing a total loan amount of Php6.35 billion pesos.

Beyond the 4PH program, SHFC also remains committed to its mandate through the Community Mortgage Program (CMP). This program not only provides housing solutions but also fosters community development through the inclusion of essential amenities within project areas. Since its establishment in 1989, SHFC has extended housing finance to approximately 468,275 informal settler families nationwide, totaling Php34.1 billion pesos in loans.

Additionally, SHFC boasts an impressive collection efficiency rating of 91.39% and has remitted Php1.04 billion pesos in dividends and Php506.48 million pesos in corporate income taxes to the national treasury.

As part of its mission to contribute to the country’s development, SHFC continues to provide affordable and accessible housing for Filipino families. Through strategic partnerships with the private sector and strong government support, the agency remains confident in its ability to fulfill the President’s housing vision, address the nation’s housing backlog, and build Resilient, Inclusive, Sustainable and Empowered (RISE) Filipino communities.
