SHFC annual GAD consultations
Published on 12 August 2024
Makati City – The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) Gender and Development (GAD) Technical Working Group (TWG) recently conducted a series of online consultations from August 5-9. These sessions were designed to orient participants on the use of the GAD consultation tool, in line with the Annual GAD Consultations for both internal and external clients.
In compliance with the Magna Carta of Women and SHFC Office Order No. 22-1296, titled “SHFC’s Gender Mainstreaming Strategies”, the consultations aimed to identify and address gender issues, while discussing emerging concerns among SHFC personnel.
The GAD tool plays a crucial role as a proactive mechanism to gather both strategic and practical gender needs. It is specifically designed to address gender-related concerns within SHFC, helping to build a more inclusive and gender-responsive organization.
SHFC personnel participated by using the GAD tool and submitting their responses. These insights will be further explored in focus group discussions and will inform GAD planning and budgeting processes. The ultimate goal is to develop targeted strategies to effectively address identified gender issues.
The GAD tool will also guide the creation of the 2025 GAD plan and budget, ensuring that SHFC continues to uphold its commitment to gender equality and development.
