Housing sector gets early House support on funding proposal

The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) expressed gratitude for the solid support shown by members of the House of Representatives during its Committee on Appropriations budget hearing on Wednesday for the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development’s (DHSUD) proposed housing sector budget for 2025.

Committee Senior Vice Chairperson and Marikina City Representative Stella Luz Quimbo and Committee Vice Chairperson and Lanao del Sur 1st District Representative Zia Alonto Adiong commended DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar’s commitment to providing affordable housing through the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program. Additionally, Senior Deputy Minority Leader Paul Daza expressed his support for the new housing initiative and commended the agency’s innovative approach.

Earlier, Secretary Acuzar, SHFC President and CEO Federico Laxa, and heads of other key shelter agencies met with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to discuss funding guarantees for the 4PH Program during a sectoral meeting held in Malacañang.
